A Letter From Our Secretariat
Dear delegates and staff advisors,
The student leaders of Iroquois Ridge High School are pleased to invite your school to participate in the ninth Halton Model United Nations Conference. The aim of the Halton Model United Nations Conference is to bring together students to discuss and debate world issues in an intellectual setting while promoting global awareness and knowledge about the United Nations. The conference will feature four committees: The Human Rights Council, World Health Organization, United Nations Environment Programme, and United Nations Security Council. The topics to be discussed in these committees will range from broad themes to current events. Delegates will use formal procedures and terminology to dialogue in a diplomatic and collaborative manner to come to resolutions through alliances and negotiations. Committee topics and registration information is now open, and country assignments will be released in late May. We hope that this conference will generate a valuable learning experience that furthers students’ understanding of our global environment and inspire them to continue in their path on becoming an engaged citizen of the modern world.
Sincerely,
Halton Model United Nations Secretariat
